Good too see all of you!

And hey, jpeg's still alive
So you're throwing a huge party, Kevin?

I know I'm around here all the time.. .still my live's been changing just as constantly as yours... finished that diploma in biology, now
getting a phd in computer science... and just rented a real life vintage 1780s three story, half high cellar* cottage .
Guess marriage is a bit off, me being just exactly half as old as the Doc this year

So long,

Well, I'm not one of the oldies here, but I'll pop in and say Hi

I'm getting married this fall, and am half as old as Doc this year as well

Started working on my MS in computer science a couple years ago, but work took priority, so it's on hold for now. But work is fun, we have a major part is the technology demonstrations at the ITS World Congress this fall. Also get to work on some autonomous vehicle systems which are always fun. Of course I have to put my time in on the less interesting stuff too, but all in all, it keeps me out of trouble and pays the bills

I'm glad to hear that C:\. Too often you hear about how sucky married life is and how depressing everything gets after you have been married for awhile. It's great to hear there are people who enjoy it and are happy about it. After all, that's the way it's supposed to be, right?

[edit: heh, just noticed my "status" went from 'Paranoid' to 'Maniac' between these last two posts
I didn't think it would ever change with how little I post.

Thought I would pop my head in here, and look at all the old names in this thread! Wow!

I've been laying low in these parts since the infamous client issue. I'm still doing some stuff on the side, but primary working in my first love, network engineering.

I contributed to a book on Exchange due out on June 1st.

The wife and I will be married 8 years in August, with our first grandchild due in July. And I'm only 41! Figure that one out!

Great to see everyone!

[edit]Oh.. Seeing that there are many more pages here, I'm all caught up! This really has been a good forum lurking. I miss the vibe of you all. And a little popin from me as well...

Hi all, and esp hi Doc
Been ages, glad to hear all is well!

And marriages & kids all over the place, congrats all!
I guess we all grow up, at least counting in years
I'm still not married at 43 yrs, but me and the lady are well into our 19th year together and 3 kids so not much difference from the m-word

Workwise I'm still in the online poker biz running a lab where we do secret, cool & new stuff.
Hobbywise almost no coding anymore which I got a rude reminder on when our simracing team asked for help on their new result tracking site...

I was asked to help with some PHP OOP code for database management and I thought that it would be a piece of cake since I still have my code generator. It turned out it needed some tweaking to work properly and boy I did realize that you forget a LOT in 4 years

I really need to get my site up again, still got the domain but lost the hosting a while ago...

Oh well, all in good time.
B well all 'til the next time!

'tis i peeking in .. greetings and congratulations to the married, almost married, working, unemployed, new parents and all the familiar faces. wow, the joy passing through here is a balm for the spirit. i know if i list names i'll leave someone out. thanks for sharing all those pics!

going back to school was fun - i discovered this place not sure my memory is ready to finish a degree, though i heartily recommend it for those considering the rigors of learning how to learn again . for myself i've had a few jobs, no more preschool teaching, but mostly small creative projects and caring for the elderly.

time online mostly spent playing games. i'm not ready to take up quilting, but i do find strategy games are good for the mind.

hi doc, so glad you've kept this place alive!

got a new comp as a gift. anyone know how to retrieve an icq passwd? who remembers such things when you use the same comp for a long time? going berserk trying to recall the passwds. which remind me of something one of my instructors said. i have no problem with memory storage, only retrieval

You know, it just occurred to me after reading all these posts about new things happening in peoples lives... I don't think I mentioned that I recently started a new job myself. This semester (from the beginning of March) I started teaching Korean-English translation at the Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation of the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (boy, that's a mouthful). After all these years of study, I'm finally a professor! I have yet to get my Ph.D., but with luck that will happen either this year or next.

Then again, maybe I did mention it and then forgot about it. Who knows. My brain is fried these days.

My wife (LdyDiva) and I are still together after 13 years (a few rough spots but we've made it), and our brick & mortar store is still going well. We've bought the commercial building where it's located. And we are looking at opening a new retail store soon.

It's good to see many of the old faces stopping back in. The Asylum is a great oasis.

Finally back in these halls again after a way too long trip on the outside. Life is good for me. Finished my studies (for now at least), and now work as a web developer. The best thing about not studying any more is that I finally have time to use my evenings for my own code projects (and hanging out here again!)

Still living in Oslo, but starting to think about moving to some other far-away place to experience something new - seven years in Oslo is starting to feel like enough.
