So what if you want to get a normal picture out of this eventually? I'm guessing that there's a resolution loss of roughly 100 times or more? (X*0.1 and Y*0.1)

Wow, the micro lens array thing could do wonders for Image Based Rendering.

Arthurio: Depends on your definition of normal picture. For computer only viewing, there's no point in having 70M pixels images. Images just need to match the screen's actual resolution.

The problem is that you need a 70MP camera to make this technology usable.
Those pictures they showed were nothing near the resolution of the screen. I'm guessing there's a reason for that.
