Hey all, I made this image for myself, and yes, it is very basic, but I want any advice, before trying to learn how to actually animate this.

The background isn't quite the right colour as the asylum, as it will be a gif, you should leave the background transparent

well, that's the trouble with having two different text background- blaise' advice about transparency is
good, we have an entry about that in the ->FAQ. (And welcome to the Asylum, make sure to read the ->FAQ... it's still a great place to learn,
even if it's being outdated by the minute).

Right now, the sig is very well tied in to your name,
alas bigger than it need's to be (loose those pixels at the bottom),
and I guess it could use some 'polish' (more distinct eyes, shadin gon the dog, etc).

I believe you're on the right way, just continue on it .

So long,
->Tyberius Prime

Ps: Don't be discouraged by the inmate with a serious 'talking flash'... his medication will kick in. Eventually.

Thanks guys for the comments.

The pixels at the bottom are going to be for my name in print, and wasn't 'supposed' to be visible.

The idea will be the dog running from the edge of the image, centering, then stopping with the printed name appearing below.

Animation isn't something to get over ambitious about if you haven't tried it yet. Start out small and work your way up to more and more detail.

The best advice I can give you is have patience.

You will likely not get the results that are in your brain the first thousand times. Then when you do finally get it just perfect you realize that it is a HUGE file and no way practical.

I have found, and many may disagree, that animation is more of an art than science. My few attempts are not what I wish they were when starting and often I get quite discouraged. So again, I preach patience...

Anyway, good luck...
