Hello.

I was wondering - is there anything like an official Ajax logo?

Worst case, I could use this : http://innovationcreators.com/wp/?p=109
Which seems to be the base for the "Aptana web studio" logo.

It's for inclusion on www.mauro-colella.com - I want three little 28x28 icons to represent
the different kinds of interfaces which will be used (rss2 / Ajax / JavaFX).

Not exactly a dhtml question, but that seemed to be the place where it fits.

Cheers,

I'd prefer an XHR logo. :P

Don't know about Europe by in North America most people would know AJAX as "The foaming cleanser" as in the pic. =)

Love the quote from Harry Weinberger.

AJAX is a brand for cleaning products, among others an ammoniac smelling all-round cleaning fluid here, too...

The concept of an AJAX logo makes me want to cry. Technologies (especially open ones) should not be so commericalized.

Lmao, love the Ajax Amsterdam pic. I know what you mean, but I am thinking "businessman overexcited by a brandable concept" - target audience and stuff, you know.
Anyway, am off to bed - I hate the name as much as you do, it's just that I have to come up with something to say "nifty widgets ahead" at a glance.

Cheers,

My first thought was Jason's contribution. My second thought was NoJive's explanation.

Boy am I behind the times.

As much as I hate it you'd be a fool not to put AJAX it on a CV if you were a front-end developer, but I still can't get my head round a logo *vomit*

(note to self : why not using the Aptana logo since I want to express "nifty widgets" - it refers to the development process and the "engineering" concept pretty well).

But do people/outsiders know Aptana's logo ? I think not.

I doubt you need a logo to describe each core technology or technique you use. AFAIK none of the 3 you mentionned has a clear, established and recognized logo. Therefore if you use a logo for each thing, you'll have to explain each logo.

Well, you may use the newsfeed icon for RSS, but that's an approximation. Newsfeeds are more than just RSS.

My advice: If you really want to then draw your own representation of it.

I don't like the Aptana logo.
