I am fed up of seeing that guy argo EVERYWHERE - I am, really, but watching his post count
closely, he doesn't post that much. Max is 3 posts, 4, a DAY (really, draw figures if you please).

The brilliant sig contest, the brilliant weekly photo thing, the not less amazing 20-32liners, the tech slop rambles :
there is magic in the air, still. But it's there, floating in the air.

What am I suggesting? This, exactly (work safe, a classic)

Why is it that everytime I wonder what a seemingly meaningless topic title in the rss feed could mean, it's a topic started by you?
(Note that not all of your topic titles are meaningless, but nearly all meaningless topic titles in the last few weeks were yours).

More signal, less noise in that regard, s'il vous plait.

+1 on the topic titles. Please try to give proper titles. It will also help dig informations out of these threads. Not long ago, I was looking for something ( JS related, pbly about the 20 liners ) posted in a thread you open and I simply gave up.

3-4 posts a day is quite a lot actually. I have an average of ~2.3 and consider that pretty high.

Partly, because we don't communicate the same way and I am adjusting to direct talk-facts-KISS and the likes - takes some time.

Ok, straight to the point : there seemingly is not much activity here lately!

I get the same feeling from the rss feed - but really, you got the stats : check how much I am posting - at what pace,
you said shorter, you said less frequent, and guess what? I plaid along. (as much as I'd love to slap you with a trout).
*insert troutslap here*.

Now, it's February, a busy time, but what you're bringing up here is pretty much my point too - WHERE IS EVERYBODY?

And also, I find that some topics tend to reoccur, come back, again - endless Christians integrist vs common sense in the Philo,
love it, but it gets old.

I need a *group* hug...

But more seriously, there are two things or ten that come to my mind when seeing the "quickie" sig contest
not getting many entries :

1) We should probably ENJOY MEANINGLESSNES - it's a forum, and it's an Asylum after all, what kind of meaning do you want Napoleon? I am Alf, remember?
2) We should certainly get to do something CRAZY for a change : get to know each other - I mean, fluff stuf, but
a few seamingly meaningless threads ago, I got to know many people around do love funk for instance.
3) There may be many other ways to boost the "vibe"

See? Now the thread title has a meaning.

And... what have you been up to lately? (everybody is welcome to answer that).

...now, I am HAPPY you're bringing this one up :

Are you pointing fingers the right way? This is a judgement less question, but consider this : I have HUGE difficulties finding anything.
And it happens all the time - all the time. Could it be... could it be that one of the "ideas" on my mind is a true FIX to the problem,
and not putting the blame on one person...

Out of 6666 and then some. Just a thought.

So, what have you been up to?

I see enough around - especially when a "hot topic" gets posted.

Then there is a burst of activity.

Other than that, I am pretty bombed out by the pills.

That is what they are for

You seem to consider activity good per se - but I don't care about activity if it's all noise.

Honestly, please give even fun' threads titles that convey what you want them to be about.

And in other news:
Yes our search is broken, and our sink is about to form intelligent life on it's own.

But, nobody's proposed a good solution, yet. A better full text search is hindered by
having the Asylum hosted on a shared dream host account,
and the auto moderation you proposed years ago has never been shown to work
(ie. nobody has labled a significant number of threads, and there has been no
cross classification of any learner.).

There has been an bayes learner to moderate the sink (smartsink)- but even after teaching it
with about 500 decisions, it's still not up to any kind of accuracy.

Not to mention that the really good threads are most likely those that have little in common with all the other stuff...

TP, I 100% understand, but this time I think I can help you - and I really want to.
That's what I said above - it's impossible to point fingers on one person out of 6666,
and it's much more FUN to get together anyhow.

*pinches WebShaman and steals a black pill from him*.

I'd like, therefore, to separate topics, and concentrate together on the Best Of thing :
Best of the Ozone Asylum

...And keep the current thread to get to know what inmates have been up to
Works 4 you?
