The possibility of losing the family jewels aside, I am struggling to see the point of this contraption. Why would anyone want to take the elegantly designed bicycle and make it harder to use? The only thing I can think of is that the creator thinks this will provide a better work out, but cycling actually provides a very good work out as is (and running or jogging puts a great amount of stress on the joints and feet). The webpage goes into detail about the how, but it doesn't seem to address the why.

Just because you can do/make something doesn't always mean you should.

WHY is it called the "jump bike"

Perhaps it drives you to the point of frustration that you "jump" off a cliff?

I think it's a brilliant idea! I would suggest one or two refinements though; put one wheel on the back instead of two, fit some sort of ratational foot-powered crank system in place with a chain running to the rear wheel, and streamline the frame into, perhaps, the shape of a skewed diamond with the handlebars connected front-top, and the rear wheel at the rear-bottom; have the seat fitted to the top-rear of the diamond in such a manner as to allow for adjustable height.

Hang on... I think it's been done... o.O

I believe the proper term is "ellipsese."

(Myself, I'm a fluent speaker of parenthesese.)
