What settings are you using for PS and any other image editing software you use like Lightroom, Bridge, Gimp, ect? Time was I used the default (I think) sRGB. Then, a few years ago (my, how time flies) I changed to Adobe RGB 1998 because of the wider range and the CMYK support for print.

Over the past year or so I'm noticing a some more colour settings that have a wider colour range again, and are supported if not actively recommended by other programmes like Canon's bundled software. One is ProPhoto RGB which provides an even larger RGB range and I imagine is especially useful when working with RAW files. As I almost exclusively shoot in RAW I'm thinking of switching to this. Has anyone had experience of using this colour setting?
I also remember reading on the Adobe site or perhaps it was Jennifer Apple Photoshop support site that there is a new colour setting on the block but I've lost the page, can't remember the setting, and pathetically can't find reference to it anywhere. Was I tripping or have you too heard of this new colour profile and can recall it? I'm still searching for it as we speak.

I understand about colour profiles and matching them across various software. I also realise there are colour settings for different usage, web print etc.
Any thoughts?
