Looks like Googled will index textual content in Flash. I'm not sure this is a good thing but it sure is a move in some direction.

Yeah I'm sceptical too, I imagine this will promote more Flash development in the name of SEO and it's possible it will be damaging to the amount of quality HTML sites out there.

Also note that Google can only index the SWF it sees : that excludes the ones whose tag is generated in JavaScript like using SWFObject.

OTOH developers using SWFObject et al. are more likely to do proper progressive enhancement and have an accessible "fallback" to their SWF.

That's interesting as the last few Flash IDE's have auto-generated a script based on SWFObject, although they also include the Flash Object in noscript tags.
