If you haven't watched it again and again yet, rush to Dr. HORRIBLE's sing along blog, Joss Whedon's new baby, born from the strikes as an attempt to show that it is possible to do things in a different, fair, way. The 3 acts are available for watching for free until this Sunday at midnight. Then they'll be pulled out, for later release on DVD with lots of extras.

Seriously, this is pure gold. The songs are nice, and as usual Neil Patrick Harris is excellent and Whedon's writing is great.

I only managed to stomach the first one and I have to say it's awful, really awful.

I'm not a huge fan, but I do like some of Whedon's stuff, I really think he's been more than a little self indulgent on this one however.

No. My brother loved Buffy but I won't even try to introduce him to Dr. HORRIBLE. I know it's not gonna be his thing.

I can understand that some might not like Dr. Horrible. That's cool. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I want to say, though, that I don't like it because it is Whedon. In fact, I've never really seen any of Whedon's stuff (yes, that includes Buffy), so I don't really know if this is par for the course for him, or if it is self-indulgent.

I just like it because it is so super geeky. And I'm a sucker for musicals.

Loved Acts I & II, but I don't really care for Act III for some reason.

I just about lost it during one of the Bad Horse songs when the line "or he'll make you his mare" came along.

That line, along with the look that Dr. Horrible gives when it is sung, is one of the best moments of the whole show.

I'm still trying to grasp the idea that some people might like these *because* it's from Joss Whedon....?
Like....that's a selling point?

How's that pitch go? something like "and now, from the man that brought you one of the worst television series ever..."

Just for the record, for those of you who may have missed it the first time around and want to see it...

Dr. Horrible is no on Hulu.

Most importantly, the stupid international restrictions that Hulu usually places on their videos are not in effect.

Yeah. 'cause hugging makes awkward moments less awkward...

I almost stopped it a few minutes in. But truth be told, I was a touch hungover, and was not moving off the couch. It was either let it play, or find something else to watch.

But then, come the end, I was looking for the next act...only to realize the version I watched had all three acts together. So then I ended up watching all 14 episodes of Firefly that Hulu has.

Very productive day.

Be thankful. I could have given you a big, sloppy kiss.

I take it by the fact that you watched all 14 episodes that you enjoyed Firefly. I've heard about it, but never seen it.

And given Hulu's policy of restricting video based on location, I probably won't be seeing it any time soon. [quote]

Yeah, I loved Firefly. I can't believe it was canceled before the first season even ended.
When I finished watching, I went looking around for season 2. Didn't know until then there wasn't a season 2.

And TP - trust me, firefly is just the right kind of geeky for Suho

OK... I have one question to ask: when Firefly ends, does it leave you hanging in the middle of nowhere? Because that would really suck. I'd like to see some sort of resolution if I'm going to go watching this.

TP: You'll fly over here personally? What if I lie and say I don't like it just to get you over here?

Oh, and I almost forgot...

As for Firefly leaving you hanging - not really. It does leave you hungering desperately for more.

Then you can watch the film, with the bitter-sweet taste that it is the best, but last bit of Firefly...

I loved Firefly and the movie was pretty good too. This had been typical of FOX as of late. They get something that appeals to Sci-Fi fans and then cancel it. They did that with Journey Man too. I loved Journey Man and it just ended. The last episode gave a bit of an ending but not enough IMO. I was expecting them to do the same with Sarah Conner but they are going to have a season 2

I really enjoyed Dr. Horrible as well. I like Neil Patrick Harris' characters that he has been playing. Long way from Doogie Howser

Firefly did not have a good sense of finality at all, but I wouldn't call it leaving you hanging either. Still trying to find the movie free online

C:\ - I hated journey man. Partly because I didn't care for the premise, partly because I just *can't* think of the main character as anyone other than Lucius.

This is typical of Fox all around, not just with Sci Fi. They have canceled almost every show I have ever loved.

I think I may have liked it because it was pretty similar to Quantum Leap.

And yeah you're right, it is pretty typical of FOX. Besides Terminator, they really don't have anything I like anymore. Oh well. Hopefully Heroes will return this Fall
