Definitely cool... but $1600 for a keyboard? I think I'll wait until these become a little more widespread.

Engadget or someplace did a review and apparently it's hell to type on.

Blacknight- This has to be one of the coolest websites I've ever seen. There goes my discretionary spending budget..

Coolness!

I really like the idea of having graphic keys!

Kind of makes having different language keys redundant.

You should just memorize that stuff, anyways. Get a Das Keyboard or Happy Hacker.

The problem being, that I work on multi-language OS plattforms, so I need a keyboard that can support them.

Or I end up having to adjust the OS so that it has the same language as what is on the keyboard.

It is an awesome idea, to have the keyboard match what language is currently set in the OS and to be able to show it.

Not to mention the amount of reduction in warehouse room (no need to have different types of language keyboards).

I'm sorry for the thread-jacking, but did everyone *see*the design on that http://www.artlebedev.com site?

Yes, the Tacticus is pretty cool in its ability to simply completely morph into a totally new style (assuming it fits the displayable area, but that's kind of a given). The problem I find with that kind of totally flat keyboard, though, is the lack of feedback. You don't know if you've pressed a key except by the results, and that's just not good as far as I'm concerned. I like the physical, mechanical movement on a 'traditional' keyboard design like the Maximus. And, seriously, if it supported Linux, and I had the money, I'd be all over it. I've loved the Maximus ever since it started in the concept phase, oh, three, four years ago.

Nothing special at all I would say.

Petskull: are you referring to the design of the site itself or the design of the objects presented on the site? I'm guessing by your original comment about your "discretionary spending budget" that you are referring to the latter, but it sounds like you're talking about the former.

And I'll agree with Skaarjj about the lack of tactile feedback on the Tacticus. I suppose it's something you could get used to after a while, but I have a feeling I'd be pounding my fingers on that thing just to make sure it was working.
