However noone seems to mention anything about battery life for video ... I guess this could be one of it's weak sides.

To me it seems like a great tool for the creative amateur who's into both photo and video ... I'm not selling my canon any time soon but I'd really like to try this baby out anyway...

The problem with today's camcorders is that they have very deep dof, bad low light performance and ofcourse no changeable lens. If I was into video I'd definitely consider this camera ... however I would wait for the next generation ... just in case.

one of its weaknesses may be the price....however, if it ain't too high i'm definitely gonna get one of these!

Just a rumor but in US it's supposed to be around $999 for just the body and with kit lens $1299 ... in Europe ?999 and ?1299 as usual ... outrageous ripoff ...
