Im not planing to use it as a work environment. Just want something that will come with a lot of system fix apps:

ophcrack,testdisk, stuff like that

while I have in the past used dsl for such tasks, I'm first to admit that small and 'a lot of system fix apps' are
a bit contradictory.

some people over at my universit have made GRML . It is a Linux live CD for Sysadmins.

I use SystemRescueCd for this sort of thing a lot. Haven't used GRML, so I can't offer a comparison - will try it out later.

Well- I don't know anything about this programs, but I've always used Ubuntu LiveCDs for everything like that.

However- there some apps for Ubuntu that let you create your own liveCD using your installed system as is. Check out Creating Your Own Custom Ubuntu 7.10 Or Linux Mint 4.0 Live-CD With Remastersys for more details.
