I had a little spare time on my hands, so I decided to peel one of them.

I think I will add some more detail when I get the time. Perhaps some kind of metal underneath the skin.

A little bit of gaffer tape fixed it fine.

Gosh! I'm a bit Photoshop rusty.
I've added some inner structure to give strength to the hand.

I'm not finished with this yet, I feel there are some things missing but I can't quite decide what.
Any thoughts for improvement?

Hmmmm, Fraggle innards, nice.
You surmised correctly NJ I haven't seen the inside of a butcher's shop since I worked in one when I was 16.
I'm also going to try for metal pistons and/or metal cog wheels. I'm just having to re-learn a lot of the old techniques. I paid a visit to the Guru's network but most of the tutorials have been removed from there.
Thanks for the suggestions chaps.

Carnivores are nice people too. =)

A few hinting glints of various jewels strategically placed could be effective...as in a 17 jewel movement.

I haven't done anything with PS in a very long time and virtually nothing since switching to a Mac 7 months ago.

I do have the hands-on tutorials in zip but don't know if it's too big to send via email, I think it might be... I could try if you like.

Thanks NJ, as it happens I also have the Hands-On tutorials too.
I'll get there eventually with a Bio-Mech hand. I did have a great tutorial from Weedah but I can't seem to find it at the moment, still I think I can wing it from what little I do remember.
The first thing is visualization, once I have a clear image in my mind it should be easier to produce.

Damn it, Tao.
I've been spending all my time on algorithms instead of things like this.
But I'm not too busy to say damn fine job.

Thanks warJ
This post came up when TP edited a post for spam. I realised the image was missing from the post so I added it here. I'm getting back into photomanipulation recently. I think I've forgotten more than I remember but it is fun trying to replicate old techniques.
I hope you're well.
