Why not? The book commented by Carl Jung I mentioned in another thread is "The Secret of the Golden Flower". Written - allegedly - by eight immortals who are prominent figures of Daoism (or Taoism), it explains, albeit allegorically, the method for immortality.
Another book confirms this : controversial because much more recent, "The Emerald Tablets", the Doreal rendition, are attributed to Hermes / Thoth and exist in at least three versions.
This is, usually, a reserved teaching, but the time has come for everyone to speak out boldly.
To control one's aging process :
- Maintain relatively decent sleep, it factors in.
- Maintain a proper sexuality : intentions-wise, and some practices are recommended to avoid "hurting" the etheric body (they pertain to avoidance of bodily fluids loss, and of sodomy).
- Cleanse your chakras, see Yoga techniques for that (or many others), regularly.
- Practice compassion. Learn to embrace ANY difference as an experience.
- For two hours a day, meditate in opposite directions, one hour with your head North, one hour with your head South.
The final step reverts the main etheric currents within the etheric system, in such a way as to restore a property I'd call "analogous to elasticity for a spring". The etheric body, or spirit, loses its ability to channel chi to the physical body over time and imbalances.
This last practice returns it to the balance that all other recommendations preserve. Thus, pursued for some time, it effectively causes aging to revert visibly; the effect is proportional to how much time you've spent aging so far. But 2 weeks of this appear to make up for 2-3 years of a human lifespan.
I believe no physical technology will come close to this result. For reasons I determined through experience. I suggest you make your own.
I give this here like I do elsewhere because - well, look at the trends around you. This is where we are going, and in this future, past the twilight, your well-being, the welfare of all, is everybody's responsibility. Quite obviously.
But I am the gatekeeper. The one whose name is known to only he himself.

I'm sorry AN, but this will not replace Science and Technology.
We are beginning to understand the physics behind the aging process. It is only a matter of time before we crack it.
So what is more efficient, a method that only an extremely small few can follow successfully (that you pointed out), or one that can be applied to anyone?
Also, I have a question for you - why are animals not practicing yoga? Why can't they "transcend"? They have been here much longer than we have. One would expect them to have long ago cracked the aging thing with a similar method.

Actually, let's look at the second one first : Dolphins do. Lookup dolphinotherapy, they practice some form of remote (short distance) healing which is dramatically effective (to the point it has affected their population because of its success).
In this case, the unusual electromagnetic "scans and transfers" they perform are measurable, have been studied. I should dig up details, but the evidence exists, and is rigorously established.
They also practice belly rubbing, akin, to a degree, to some chakra cleansing techniques. It is by them a very frequent ritual. Other species present unusual capabilities or practices, such as the suspected (elaborate beyond the human's ear frequency), language of wolves. Wolves speak beautifully.
As for replacement : you are right in regard to some aspects, such as the everlasting need for surgery. Because emergency and etheric healing don't mix.
But imagine the possibilities if we blend approaches. A lot more, at little costs, can be achieved than what we presently realize using such techniques. To me it's an infinite field of research, with a big question mark and some hints of glory as its boundaries.
Infinite energy that is latent "matter" to be harvested anywhere : crystals do store electromagnetic signals under some circumstances.
About aging control, I believe - because I am an example of someone who came from a place of turmoil, to one of being there for others on a deeper level - I believe it is really accessible to all.
I see you, us, all living beings today, as wonderful entities which extend - whichever way you choose to look at it - far beyond envelopes. Be it the mind, the spirit, whichever name you would give to this "mechanism", the sole existence of "interpersonal intuition" says we are more than sums of parts, and more than meets the eyes.
I believe in 'all'. As perfect "thermodynamic miracles".
Aging is as a result of time?.Time is as a result of the brains linear perception??. therefore changing ur trance on time results to no aging?.but then ur neighbors will start questioning
Time = Ti Me = Tie Me
Physical = Phi Cycle = fractality
Transcendng is simply ending a trance....
Spiral out and keep going brother, time like the rest circles round, spirals up or down,
anchored by the lessons of life, and on its way back into the singularity,
loses its texture as an illusion indeed.
Oh, WebShaman. Essentially a matter of briefness of posts and personal kinship. Do you suspect or sense another reason I wouldn't perceive? It would be interesting if that's the case.
The three marine mammal species matter a lot.
Whales and Orcas as well I mean, very similar, but dolphins have left a deep imprint in me. I have been very active about causes relevant to them, and they have an ambiguous history as the other intelligent species on the planet. They do have an intelligence comparable to ours, but look at their societies.
And the fact it has the largest brain of all mammals? Your original question being about meditation, I didn't touch on singing animals for no reason. A widely spread chakra cleansing
technique, one I will illustrate with Tina Turner's help in a second, is chanting.
quote:The elephant's brain is similar to that of humans in terms of structure and complexity - such as the elephant's cortex having as many neurons as a human brain, suggesting convergent evolution.
Elephants exhibit a wide variety of behaviors, including those associated with grief, learning, allomothering, mimicry, art, play, a sense of humor, altruism, use of tools, compassion, cooperation, self-awareness, memory and possibly language. All point to a highly intelligent species that are thought to be equal with cetaceans and primates.
And that'll make for a whole bunch of intelligent species, some of which have some practices
similar to those of humans (including meditation-like feats), that these good ol' pink monkeys
we are tend to eat or otherwise process.
D'oh.
All these species have elaborate societies that seem to provide them with great joy, and this
might represent a possible alley for the survival of our own species. As for chemically controlled
aging, I cannot prove this, but I suspect that the "let's age" trigger will not be found
as a chemical component.
Just like the Higgs Boson. For those are the places where control measures imparted to us
by "the Universe" force introspection - less there would be no safeguard to the maintenance
of that thermodynamic principle, which keeps the Universe going : life must counterbalance
the action of entropy.
