PHP 5.2 has been defunct for some time (it was officially moved to ?unsupported? January 6, 2011) and thus is very outdated. In an effort to help secure your sites and data we?ve made it easier than ever to upgrade your PHP version by adding a feature to the panel here:

https://panel.dreamhost.com/index.cgi?tree=home.over&

which will identify domains which have PHP 5.2 running and let you upgrade them with just a couple of clicks. Please take the time to check this out and make sure you are up-to-date. You may also want to read this article if you have questions about upgrading:

http://php.net/manual/en/migration53.php

Please note that it is still possible to revert to PHP 5.2 at this time if it causes any issues with your site (you may just need to upgrade your applications which is also very important for sound security practices).

Oh-kay. Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time! The only troubles I had at www.deepfling.com was some issues with setCookie(), apparently I had one PHP template that had some trailing spaces which were interpreted as "output", easily fixed. The Grail, here at the Asylum, not so easily fixed it seems. I've downgraded us to PHP 5.2 again.

So, how are you all doing today? Malin and I are doing well, working our jewelry biz and trying to have some time for living life, here in sunny California.

Thank's for that - I'll look into what we need to do to upgrade later this weekend.
That's gonna be a blast from the past - I haven't done any PHP in about 5 years
(and enjoyed every minute of it ).

So long,

How am I doing? Let's see... how about a quick re-cap of past four years instead of just today?

Now divorced. Sometimes things just don't work. Amiable, so no real biggie.

The only time I fire-up Photoshop is when one of the girlies wants to play with my tablet.

As far as hobbies go, I got into braiding and knots. Also crochet, bobbin lace, and needle tatting. Give me a piece of string and I'll make something interesting out of it. Right now, on my marudai, I am braiding some purple cotton string around a 25' length of black paracord. Strong paracord on the inside, soft cotton on the outside.

I do the odd commission on occassion. Scarves and dog leashes mostly. I got all this skill and that's all that folks really seem to ask of me. Custom braided dog leash... got me, but I'll do it. Money is money. As soon as I get my hands on a certain dog, I will be making a special custom martingale collar.

I do tons of little freebies. Mostly bracelets and lanyards. I'll make a little something to keep my hands busy and give it away. Most folks that I am in contact with carry a small piece of my work.

I'm off to watch some Foamy.
Who's next?

Holy shitsnacks. I was here for a super-short while NINE YEARS AGO. I was... 13? Way too young/timid to really try to stay around, but I remember being inspired by the various DocOzone sites at the time, not to mention the people at this place.

These days I work 9-5 as a PHP and JavaScript consultant in Malmö, Sweden. Getting tired of office life (at 22yo, yeah yeah I know, welcome to the rest of your life and so on) but I do love the job. Will be taking a few C# classes come spring as well.

Living with girlfriend, a couple of friends, two cats and a dog. It's pretty sweet right now.

Well, let's see... I think I found my last post before this one and my son was 5 days old... I now have 2 boys and a third kiddo due next spring. We moved out of town and are dealing with all the fun that goes along with that (closest thing to country life you can find around here). Work is still work and still mostly enjoyable (slinging code for prototypes and R&D - redesigning a neural network implementation right now). I get to play in Gimp occasionally, but less for fun and more for making data look good for a presentation or something.

Otherwise, life is life. Nothing particularly out of the ordinary. I still try to poke my head in here every few months or so.

I love hearing how my fellow Asylumites are doing in the big wide one.
I'm back living in Liverpool UK working as a care support worker. I'm still into photography and have managed to sell a few prints too, enough to get me new faster glass for my old EOS 400D.
No steady relationship to speak of except of course for Photoshop. I've just taken the plunge and signed up for a year on the new Photoshop CC version, more about that on a later thread I think.
I tried twitter but felt like a twit so desisted.
Still have my site thanks to the monk of funk himself Jason Mabry, but it is woefully out of date.
I can be found rambling away on facebook under the name of Gearoid an Paganach.

Shine on.

Miss everyone, especially doc, f1, bug, twitch, the nurse etc

Hello in the murky old corners of the Asylums chambers
Good to see this old place is still standing! And even inhabited by the names from the past

I'm still in the business of online poker, been doing a lot of different things poker since 2004 when I started as a PHP Dev.
For the last few years I've been Lead UX for first B2C Poker, then going over to the B2B side as Head of Mobile Poker Development and UX Lead for Poker (and other things) within Amaya where Ongame is a huge part of the organization.

Still having fun, still using the knowledge I gained here
Cheers all, 'til the next time

Hello,

I check in now and again to see if this place is still here. I'm a front end LAMP developer specializing in Magento eCommerce sites. Learned a lot of programming skills since the days when I used to frequent these hallways...Loonier than ever!

The strange thing is, I don't do web design...or photoshop, but I somehow ended up here ;-) The blue & orangish is what brings me back ;-)

I still think of the Asylum as my spiritual (digital) home.
I suppose my thirst for Photoshop education brought me. But It was, and still is, all you beautiful people who brought me back, time after time.
I'm hoping and planning to present something to this orangey beautiful place, by way of giving something back.
One Love
