this is complete silliness, but i'm sharing it anyways....
tomorrow, i become the proud new parent of 2 baby pet rats!! both are male, one is grey and white and has straight hair and the other is brown and white with curly long hair. his whiskers are even curly! he's SO cute! they both are really!!!
i'm so excited! being a veterinary tech., i usually always have pets, but i had to leave my dog in australia when i moved back to the states. since i have a small apartment, i was looking for a small pet that didn't need alot of work.....so i decided on rats! it helped that the girl across the hall from me is giving them away!
i'm off to search the net for some cool names woohoo!!

A few years back I got my wife a couple of really cool stuffed animals, I think they were ferrets. They were virtually identical but she could always tell them apart. She named them Tootsie and Pootsie

Mr Prime: Come clean now - they are flying vampire rabbit things.

Lacuna: Call them Dave. I had a friend who called all his pets Dave - it kept things simple.

How about "Dot" & "Net" ?

Just remember, if you're going to take them on walks, they will probably need raingear and rubber boots. Then they should be ready for Ketchikan weather. (many fond memories!)

I once 'rat-sat' a pair of 'male' brown rats for a friend one summer.
When she came to collect them a few weeks later, she took home the original pair AND 12 hand-reared (and soooo cute) pink babies!

I had 2 rats. They just recently died. I named my Andre for Andre Agassi since I'm a tennis player, and my sister named the other Einstein.

Teach them some tricks and try to get them out for an hour a day. That was my mistake. I just didn't have enough time.

no..no..i wasn't tryin to get out of anything suho!! i swear!!! *dang dang dang...i was found out!*

rinswind...ok...that sounds like a deal, but you're going to have to take the pills in installments! it's going to take me awhile to steal that many pills!

duck: i saw last night on the net that they could learn tricks...that's exciting! right i am just getting them used to me...which is going well. they're a hoot!

this is a change for me, having pet rats. i used to (about 7 years ago) have reptiles and would only have rats in the house for food (when we were out of bunnies and chickens)

When I was about 13 or so, my older sister and her friend rescued 2 rats from the pet store where they were being sold as snake food... They were cute, and little, and the pet store guy assured her they were both males...

About 6 months later, we had 14 rats, and ultimately, they ended up as snake food for the pythons at the science museum anyway!

Entertaining in the meantime though, I'll tell ya!

My brother had a couple rats a few years back... He named them Oreo and Whiteout, for obvious reasons if you saw them.
I would be watching TV and have the albino one sitting on my shoulder, and a Jack Russell Terrier in my lap, making sure she never lost site of the rat

You could always name them P/S2, and Intellipoint... Or something like that

Lacuna, think of them as small dogs, only far more intelligent (as a rule).
Pretty much anything you can teach a dog, a rat will learn much faster.

They make fantastic pets, if you put in the time.
