Win2000 runs the NT kernell just like XP but it is more "administrative" so to speak. I kind of wish that I went to Win2000 instead of XP. If you have a big enough hard drive you could part a partition on it and run Linux like Boudga suggests. I still don't want to go straight Linux. I like Photoshop and Visual Basic to much. If you want to downgrade, format the partition and install Win2k from scratch. There is no catch, unless you don't have a full-install CD for Win2k. If, for any reason, you must install Win2k over WinXP, as far as I know, there is no way. Win2k won't downgrade WinXP.
