Topic awaiting preservation: my ip addresss are banned.

Someone or should I say something in SL banned all of my ip addresses; my school's, town' library, even my PC's.
Great, just great now I can't talk to my friends if I ever got one from the site at all. I tried to contact the admin. but they're not responding.
Is there anyone in here who have gone there yet or have any contact with them (SL people)?

Yannah: I've had a nose around SL and it appears that you have really pissed them off and I don't think you'd get a nice reception if you found a way back. You should take the effort they've gone to as a sign that they probably don't want you around.

Well, I guess they won't be getting any new Brisbane members for a while. Not that I really want to visit that forum but it appears their not blocking access to existing members from that area as I use the same ISP as Yannah.

Just goes to show that your actions on the net do have reflections on the physical world. I can't say you deserved it because I know little about what went on over there but if they banned you then maybe, just maybe you were doing something they didn't like.

Maybe you should wait till things cool off the re-sign under a new username and this time, watch what you say and post about or you'll just get banned again. Remember, large community based forums and the peaceful way in which everyone interacts is very important to many of the regular members. You could almost call it their home away from home and their likely to get very very angry if you come in mouthing off about crap and just generally ruining the flow of things by making pointless posts and comments all over the place.

You may not be aware that your doing this but something is defiantly annoying them (and occasionally some of the members here too). If someone walked into your room and dumped all their rubbish on the floor, would you not want to throw out the rubbish then lock the door?

That sounds like 'banning becuase I want to, not becuase i have a good reason to, and I can't make up anything good enough right now'...Yannah...give up on SL, they obviously don't want you there, so stop trying. We, on the other hand, don't mind you that much, we aren't about to ban you.

Do you seriously want to hang out in a place that has to ban that many people? In the history of the Asylum I don't think a single person has ever been banned. I think that speaks to the comparative levels of maturity and restraint in the two places.

My suggestion? Move to an area that has the most member IPs...and troll away! Then move again...I'm sure that within the space of a year, you should be able to ban SL out of the Net...hehe...

Because Yannah was trying to prevent a world disaster...any native Australian would die of sheer sympathetic embarrasment to be a member of that site.

Unfortunatley for that though, Australia doesn't have a specific IP range assigned to it...I have a friend who's ISP uses the 213.217.* range and naother who's ISP uses the 101.51.* range.

I didn't ask them to ban all of Australia's IP address, I asked them to ban Yannah's account delete it all.

no there's only one Yannah in SL, and it's me(so sorry if I said that someone's using my account before)...I asked them to delete it's account because I don't want it no more.

In this case it wasn't because Yannah was trolling (though "it" would have been banned for that eventually) it was because she was using duplicate accounts to post, often having flamewars with herself. Duplicate accounts are explicitly against SL's rules, the penalty being a perminant ban. That's made quite clear in the rules.

I can only assume she's behaved much better at your boards. But a perminant ban is just that - perminant, and whenever she pops up under a new username, she'll be banned. It's that simple.
