Thought you guys would be interested in this. The Gutenberg Project consists of a rather large collection of ebooks. Most of them are re-printed from 1923 to earlier, but this is a good place to get early written books like the first edition of Alice in Wonderland, or Dante's Inferno. There are several million books to search from different FTP sites. I have been looking up different religious texts on here. Check it out. http://promo.net/pg/

Ah, that's great, Wolfen! I had stumbled across that quite some time ago, but last time I checked my bookmarks it wasn't in there. Good to have it again!

I have heard of that before - hadn't been able to check it out yet. It's a really great thing though, to have that literature available freely.

I do have a copy of the original Alice in Wonderland though - a volume of the complete works of Lewis Carole, actually. It has a photostat of the original manuscript in it. A little different than the story we've all known and loved.
Over the years, I've owned about 15 different copies of that story - being named Alice, it's to be expected...

I will definitely spend some time on that site! Thanks!
