I was just getting some new skins for Trillian and noticed this one: http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/skins/images/previewFinal.png

It appears to be based on one of Doc's classic background images: http://www.ozones.com/backgrounds/BKG6/bg22.gif

I think we may have come across this one before and I think the Doc didn't really mind that much but I found it funny all the same. I just saw warjournal's post about someone ripping his tute too. Will the ripping never end?

I think last time that background popped up it was on a Win Amp skin.

Although I think that's the most notorious metal background/texture on the whole www. If I had a dollar for every time I've seen that Image I'd be filthy rich. =)

Yeah, I thought those backgrounds were available for free to do with what you please.

This is on the enter page of Doc's background image pages, although this particular image has appeard in many texture libraries all over the internet.

Doc says that you can use them but for stuff like this I think all he asks is that you credit him. At least, that's what he said about the other winamp skin using this image.

I download the skin and in the read me he has this:

Please read the thanks.txt for it contains a list of people, without whom, there would be no skin.

In the thanks.txt there's a list of about 20 names, not one of them is Doc, but this guy seems to be more hyped about actually making a skin that worked properly than how it looked so I don't really think he's doing any harm

There's also an extremely good chance that the person has never even heard of Ozones, as so many of Doc's background iamges have worked their way into thousands of 'free image' depots...

Not anything you could consider a 'rip' at all...
