Yu Yu Hakusho roleplaying Game made with White Wolf's d10 system.

Yu Yu Hakusho is a anime show being aired on Cartoon Network's toonami.
I am trying to make a RPG game based on it since it doesn't seem to have been done yet. you can either post here or at here for me to read. The Funimation Central forum is the one I am trying to do most of this ony to get some inmates input on this. If you want me to post your replies in the other forum tell me in your post or e-mail them to me.

Are you familiar with the Champions system? (I can't remember what it's predecessor is called.)
For Yu Yu, I think that would be the way to go.
The strong point being that you can make your own spells/spirit attacks, each one individualized with pros and cons.

Updated the stuff at the other ends of the link.

I looked into the champions but don't think I am going to go that way since I have the rules for the other system already and don't want to buy/learn Champions right now.

I have checked the hero and chanpions books but went withe the Abberant game since it is a system that I know. I used that for some influence on the game but made 80% of it myself. The dice system belongs to White Wolf so I am going to check into things a bit more before I start posting an entire book's worth of materealon the web to explain the game mechanics.

The game as it stands can be found here with rules, blank character sheets, and sample characers from the show.

ah...this sounds like fun. however, I am not that adept with YYH or White Wolf. I do know the D&D system, not sure if it is basically the same. wish i could be of some help though. sounds like a good task.

Unfortunatly DnD and White Wolf's d10 system are way different things indeed.

It is fairly simular to Shadowrun or GURPS though.

Would anyone know what the legality of including the basic this is how to play information in my game so that those not familiar with d10 can play it?

bets thing would be to contact them to cover your ass. They may provide you with everything you need. more than likely at a charge but it would be legal.

Yes. The legal way to do it is for them to buy a core book that explains it. The only other option you really have is to share one book. House rules or adaptation of the rules are fine, but not along with an entire reprint of the core book information. No dancing with the copyright! You could take the long, hard, but usually more satisfying and marketable, approach and write your own core rules instead of using an existing system. I suppose it depends on whether or not you plan on trying to make money on it or if its just for fun.

thats what I thought too. But I have sent an e-mail to White Wolf asking about this but it doesn't good for all making this easy for non-gamers.

So... you're making a Role playing game for non-gamers? Sounds like a poor marketing plan to me. When looking at a group of people who are interested in playing they should get their own equipment (and want to). It's when people are't interested that they resist getting into something new. Lend them the core book and work with them to see if they are interested. If they are, they'll want to get their own stuff. If they aren't, they won't and they won't play. Making it cheap isn't going to make it interesting.

What I ment by non-gamers was the people that don't have the White Wolf books already. Since most of the people on the YYH cartoon forums are not gamers yet it would be nice to acualy give them the needed information to try the game out rather then having to go and buy another book, learn that, and then try my game. It is not targeted at non-gamers but I wuld lik e them to be able to try it.

I don't plan on using this to compete with White Wolf or selling it. I am just doing this for fun.
