A week ago i quit drinking sodas, or carbonated drinks. Not quite caffeine, but close. Sticking mostly to water and teas now. I used to drink tons and tons of soda every day, 2 and 3 liter bottles would get downed every couple hours or so. Quite frankly i gained a lot of weight from it but it surpressed sleeping urges. After quitting i noticed i have been so tired, tired to exhaustion at times. I sleep a lot more now, i can work out a lot longer now though. And i feel a lot healthier. I imagine my sleeping track will get itself together in a matter of time. Just felt like sharing that, i know most of us here drink a lot of soda every day....

You made a very good move, Sanzen. Soda is so bad for you its not funny. I used to drink a lot soda when I was younger (Mountain Dew was my favorite), but I stopped after I came to Korea, and I can't say I really miss it. It's mostly water, juice, and tea for me now. On occasion I will have a soda, but I can't finish a whole can or cup. It's definitely not something I crave anymore.

I drink FAR too much pop ( ) as it is.

I'll probably end up cutting back midway through August. I'll need the endurance for roller hockey this autumn.

You keep it up, Sanzen. Late last year, I was drinking at least four two-liter bottles of soda a week. I decided to quit (actually, I switched to diet root beer, but I only drink about one bottle per week now). Since then, I've lost about eight pounds, with no other changes in my diet! I mean, take a look at how many calories are in one of those bottles! (In my case, it was around 1,100!)

I drink a lot more water now, with the occasional diet root beer. I do allow myself a can of soda now and again. It helps me to keep it up. Going cold turkey just makes you want it more.

Congrats, Sanzen!

Man!! What is wrong with all ya'll?

First, smoking, then drinking, red meat, artificial sweetners, and now Soda? Cold Caffine?

Soon it'll be Chocolate, Loud Music, Staying out Late, Sex with Stangers, riding in cars, living by roads, crossing the street, having power..

Sure, you'll live to be 396, but why would you want to?

PS: well, just giving up soda doesn't mean you have to give up all the fun...

And then there are always life's little ironies, like the fact that I don't drink soda, but I occasionally drink a bit too much alcohol. I think that helps balance things out.

I drink 3 liters a day.. usually of caffeine free mt dew.. i switched to it as opposed to the reg stuff like a month ago.. had a headache for a day.. but not bad.. im still 16.. i couldnt get fat if i wanted to with my metabolism..

my brother had a similar addiction.. i imagine it was worse.. when he went to college quite a while back he couldnt afford much at all so he quit drinking sodas.. he had a headache for 2 weeks..

i also knew a guy who drank so much.. he was like 40 something i believe.. he was getting pressure on some organ near his stomach.. i forget.. but it caused excruciating pain all day long.. and it virtually paralyzed his lower half.. he couldnt walk. his doctor suggested a new diet along with takin out the caffeinated sodas. he was perfectly fine in 2 days. crazy stuff

Now... what is the point in that? Don't you think that defeats the purpose of having ultra caffeinated pot hole slop? It isn't like it really tastes THAT great. Better than Mellow Yellow, mind you, and far better than surge (which is like winterized pot hole slop) but not great tasting in and of itself.

I recently stopped drinking coffee. I don't smoke. I don't drink. I don't take recreational drugs. I use a Bullworker. I don't drink tea. Because it tastes crap.
