No it wasn't personal I'd have removed such a picture no matter who had posted it.

To reiterate: This is a web design and graphics (and related subjects) forums and this forum and the P&S are for us to explore other topics (or similar ones that don't fit in elsewhere) but they are only secondary to the main focus of this forum. We get a range of ages and sexes as well as races and religions and while we may touch on strong and emotive issues we really have to keep on our audience and avoid anything too offensive. I think we'd all prefer to rely on self-censorship (there has been plenty of stuff that I haven't posted here because it wasn't appropriate) but when that fails I'm quite happy to err on the side of caution. The Asylum is not a one-stop shop for everything and there are plenty of other forums to cater to whatever your interests are.]

The crucial difference being that the door is always open here - so if you don't like the way things are run you can always leave (dictators and communists tend to have rather strict border policies). The are a multitude of different forums catering to any subject so if this place doesn't quite suit then you should easily be able to find another one that does.

This is a service that is being provided at someone else's expense. There are rules. Abide by them, or deal with such things as having objectionable material removed - end of story. Sounds like a pretty simple concept to me, and pretty damn easy to live with.

It's the "slapping it out on the table" part that I loved the most DL ... Perhaps "slap out" was a bit of an exageration in many cases (more like a 'tinkling out' as the metal bounces on the table..) ...but the phrase does help the imagery, doesn't it

It's very true though, I've known maybe a half-dozen or so people who've gotten various penile peircings, and every one of them has waked into to the room and displayed it with a flourish, usually on the table...

And to clarify a bit - I really don't care one way or the other what body part was displayed...I'm not easily offended or overly sensitive. However, if a moderator decides it shouldn't be shown, well then - so it goes. Nobody's rights have been infringed upon by making a link instead of an image....

I did what was suggested by a fellow poster, and posted my piercings, included some of my tatoos also. Did i post a nice close up in full glory of my cock ? NO !! i posted a small blurred version to try and lessen the graphical impact. Whether it was right or wrong, is not the point anymore, the point is that you have to resort to personal childish attacks in order to boost your own personal ego. I could resort to flaming you or any other person who has a go, but whats the point ? I like it here, and intend on staying, i wont have anyone try and verbally bully me away.

Ini - If people had made their point in the same way as you just did, then there would never have been a problem. The fact is that some people just have to go that little bit further to make things personal. I have thick skin and anywhere else i would have just let it pass without drawing attention to it, but in this case i have seen it only too often on this board that people basically take the piss ( english phrase ).

Why should i just sit back and take it like many others in the past. Too many people only post to provoke a negative reaction, and others jump on the bandwagon and kiss the arses of the hierarchy.

My post was NEVER intended to cause offense, thats why i went out of my way to try and manipulate the image for obvious reasons.

Nobody knows what that person is thinking or what mood they are in when they write posts and everything that is posted usually can be taken in many different ways. As we can't see expressions, lots of things over the net get misconstrude. E.G. If i post a sentence and don't make it obvious HOW i want people to read it, (like putting smiley faces in or whatever) then people are going to read it many different ways. It is what makes us all different. But what i have noticed ......alot is the attitude on this board of ' Your only aloud to take this one way or else, if you dare to question you get your head bitten off'
Its negative, without any constructive critism and sarcastic.
Its got to the point where when someone posts, we already know what the tone of replies will be, its that predictable and laughable. Unless of course your part of 'the click' in which case you get favourable responses. Half the time i don't even think you know your doing it, it's just instinctive.
Some moderators need to learn tact. Maybe thats why they would rather deal with people over the net instead of face to face who knows

Shouldn't moderators be tactful, adult and know when to diffuse situations? Shouldn't they have the ability to talk to all kinds of people and make an enviroment that will want to make people come back and post again and again.

Well there are some reasons:

1. I seem to have missed that link or I might well have commented on it - if there were warnings with it then I might not have had too much problem with it.

2. I am sarcastic and negative [edit: or at least I can be if pushed - I must admit I didn't think the above was either just blunt hey ho] - live with it or leave. I might have been more inclined to be helpful if I wasn't sick and tired of the pointless attention seeking that you and Axke seem to indulge in in every single thread you post to. As I said this is a web design forum but you don't seem to be here for that (Axle was a while ago) and it seems to you want to turn every thread into an arguement (and look another thread that had some promise has been dragged down by your double teaming) - Axle posted a picture of his pierced penis into the forum, I decided it wasn't suitable to be placed directly in the forum so I removed it (if this hadn't been another example of the same behaviour I might have been inclined to make more of an effort - post a message, turn it into a link, etc.) and that should have been the end of the story. It was hardly a big issue but you seem intent on making a mountain out of a mole hill again - if so carry on I have said my piece.........

Ok. I, too avoided this because I don`t really care about Axle`s *little friend*, or what he stuck in it, however inappropiate it may seem to me. We do talk about personal things here, sometimes, but PLEASE.

So, being the understanding, patient, experienced moderator that I am, I let it go. To each their own, I say.
Then it got petty (typical postings from pink, and the Sheep response from Axle) as if somebody took away their candy. Still, I let it go.
