Here it goes, my movie about Harvard, with some family touch.
http://www.people.fas.harvard.edu/~viol/harvard.wmv

Let me warn the 56k-er's that this is a 63MB file, with a 8.5 min movie.
Why am I posting it here? Just to show off my biggest one-million dollar production

Actually, I hope there is no video pro guy here because this was filmed in a $300 camcorder, post-processed in a $200 computer, all done by a completely video amateur: me.

The few existent captions are in Portuguese. Sorry, this I made for my mom (as part of a 2 hour collection of movies VHS cassette that I sent her recently).
You can see my wife and my two daughters in the movie and some images from Harvard.

I may change my mind and delete the file from the server at any time.
So, from zero to ten, how do you rate it?

ADDED: if you really want to waste your time and watch the movie, you will probably need to download it first (by right-clicking on the link); don't try to watch it on-the-fly unless you have a very good Internet connection!

I think I asked too much. You know, downloading a 60+ MB personal amateur movie, just to find out you may have wasted your time.
I have already two persons that have rated them for me. My wife and my mother. You see, very unbiased opinions...

Well aside from the numerous Zoom-Ins-and-Outs, the movie wasn't of bad quality or anything, I only went through 4:24 seconds of it though, started getting some serious motion sickness, so I ended it there. What exactly is this movie for anyways? A documentary or something?

I had absolutely no problems downloading the video (I didn't right-click the link either) and playing it straight up. I use cable modem also.

This is just a movie I made so my mother, in Brazil, can take a look at some Harvard scenes, the foliage colors, stuff like that. I agree with you that I must stop zooming in and out so often. The "A.V. Productions" at the beginning of the film and the credits at the end are just a joke because there is no AV Productions, no direction, no nothing, just personal amateur footage. Just to make my mother proud of her son... (of course she also knows that they are a joke!)

I just downloaded it and I really enjoyed watching it. First of all, I loved your musical choices. Next I just enjoyed the scenes in such a pure form. I didn't mind the zooming and panning at all. I felt like I got a candid glimpse into your life... pure and unpretentious. The autumn colors and the history of that campus was beautiful. You are very fortunate to have such a lovely family too

So since I really enjoyed it, and it fit so well with my mood right now... I'll give it a whopping 8 out of 10. I appreciate you sharing this with us, viol.

That was great!

Although there were some technical things that I noticed, I was very impressed, especially compared to the last "home-made" video that one of my sister's friends made (I couldn't even watch all of his video).

I think Bugimus's comment kind of summed it up for me...

[edit]My older sister went to Harvard, I should let her watch this...[/edit]

Now that was cool. I really like the effect of the zoom out in the opening scene... and the music was great.
