I have acquired a new disk reader - it is supposed to be a universal reader/cd writer.
Samsung SM-362B

It reads cds, and even burns them... pretty fast too (52x), but for some bizzare reason it displayes a "Not supported disk format" when I give it a movie on DVD-R. the medium is SmartDisk 4.7GB. The manual claims that the drive will read everything, but I also had problem with some 800mb cds (even tho it should write them). Before I start callin customer support and getting all frustrated, maybe someone knows what the problem is? maybe its software? maybe the way the dvds were recorded?
Oh, and another important thing. If I run ISOBUSTER on those dvd-rs, I can see the contents and .vob files in them, but when trying to extract it says that it cant read it.

Please help.

if it is not a dvd rom it wont read an actual dvd.

CDwriters can write cd's that can be played in dvd drives, but not the other way around... unless the documentation says it can read dvd's... then its a dvd rom/cdwriter

EDIT, and that player should beable to read dvd's... so try different dvd's in the drive to see what it can/cant read. Try dvdr's and also try some actual movies, to see if you can pinpoint the problem.
