Nope but it gives me the excuse to pass this on:

There are some links and resources from there too.

Thanks Emps! There's this kid in my college now that has this HUGE Antena that he used on his roof to pick up my network, from about 3 blocks away! It scared the crap outta me. Luckly he could pick it up but he couldn't enter the network. (I guess it was too distant, or he didn't know what he was doing) But anyhow the other night I was on here and I couldn't figure out why there was somebody in my DHCP tables that wasn't on any of our computers. So I assume somebody was war driving and found the network. So I best put some kinda encryption on it. Well see ya later...

Did you turn on WEP encryption when you installed that LinkSys router? When you turn on WEP encryption, all communication will be encrypted with 128-bit key (using passphrase that you specified) and only people who know the WEP passphrase will be able to contact to your AP...

Yeah but see that's what I can't figure out, my router generates a key based on a paraphase I've been putting the key into the card settings, because Windows XP specifies that I need to put the key into my settings. Could they really mean the pharaphase?

I guess this is what confused me....

Fixed it! It works now, and that guy who seems to be mooching the connection is gone!

So why not let people leech free Internet off you? Assuming you're not on a bandwidth-metered system. This article suggests that people aren't really bothering to hack wireless these days (and that WEP is useless to begin with).
