I heard this on the news this morning. Hats off to a music legend...

They said it was complications of his diabetes, but I think it was really from a broken heart. You know his wife, Rose, I think, died earlier this year...

his wife is June. adios muchacho. Folsom PRison BLues is one of my favorites, possibly one of the top 10 American songs of all time.

Unchained:

I have been ungrateful
And I have been unwise
Restless from the cradle
But now I realize
It's so hard to see the rainbow
Through glasses dark as these
Maybe I'll be able
From down on my knees

Oh I am weak
Oh I know I am vain
Take this weight from me
Let my spirit be unchained

Old man swearin' at the sidewalk
And I am overcome
Seems that we've both forgotten
Forgotten to go home

Have I seen an angel
Or have I seen a ghost
Where's that rock of ages
When you need it most

It's so hard to see the rainbow
Through glasses dark as these
Maybe I'll be able
From down on my knees

A sad day, but not unexpected.

People don't often outlive their spouses by very long.

John Ritter died too.

If your name is John, I suggest you lock yourself in a padded room today...

Today my MP3 player is loaded with only Johnny Cash and Warren Zevon songs as a memorial.

(If you don't know who Warren Zevon is, you should)

I like Johnny Cash's song Ragged Old Flag.

I also have a copy of Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon.

Hats off to a couple of legends.

Those not familiar with Johnny Cash, this is a snapshot of one of the most famous rock n roll pictures ever.

He was a great man, that man in black. Hope you enjoyed your stay on Earth, John.
