Hi there all,
Back with this project. I fear 3d's out for the moment, but there's a fresh new field of projects open with my new discovery (myself only)! I've discovered that I can make several objects move at the same time, totally disregarding direction (since each action is saparate). Now working on a tut. This must be shared with u guys.
Naturally thsi is a co-production of RHIno&PS. Animated model's to be followed

Ah yes...I can see how it would have taken the power of a 3D app to produce that beautiful piece of work After all...it's not every program can produce such a beautifully rendered red X

now that is an old way of recording! but if i remember correctly, the reels move in the same direction at the same time, not in opposite directions.. or are you referring to the meters at the bottom?

yeah the reels would go in the same direction, else the tape would sag or snap. i didn't really understand the "question" though.

OK, i dont beleive the reels do move at the same speed, i understand that the reels would move at different speeds due to the fact that on reel is full of tape and the other is not. One reel that is receiving the tape would spin at a slightly faster speed in order to compensate for the reel that has the tape already on it. As the tape comes off the loaded reel then the receiving reel would gradually get slower until it held more tape that the other.

i think ?

only one reel is actually being driven...the other is just turning free to allow the tape to go off it...it's the only wheel who's speed will vary depending on the amount of tape on it.
