It's kinda funny, but also kinda sad that people still buy these stories... anyway, you live, you learn.

'sides, I don't trust anything that says 'dear friend'.

Don't be surprised if that turns up in you email for the next several days. I had a hell of a time stopping the incoming. Piss me off!

My IT department sent some urgent warnings around thismorning, as a handful of people here received this email and went right ahead to open up the file =)

Damn, this place is filled with morons

I don't really open messages that I'm not really fond of or particularly familiar with.

If you have _any_ doubt about the origin of a message, and if it has a file attached (this is easy to know without opening the message), just delete it and don't waste your time. Better safe than sorry.
If you have doubt but the message has no file attached, you can open it and waste your time a little.

I don't understand. It's always the same old story over and over again, and these people don't get it! What are they? Morons, unliterate, too curious or just lazy?

It's been a while since I uninstalled my anti-virus and still no virus has gotten me (I do have a firewall), never ever! I am not that smart, I am just conscious about the problem.

That's "illiterate"

I have been FLOODED with these freaking emails. I had 86 of them yesterday! I know I don't have the virus on my computer but what virus is it? I am going to see if my ISP has some type of block for these but I would like to know what the virus is.

i got this e-mail, it's quite well done, well, it would be if it were in english.

i didn't fall for it though, it's too obvious to me and i'd never download anything from an e-mail unless i was expecting the file,

I have a friend [the one who just love Avril] who have been hacked quite often by somebody she doesn't know, she told me so I just sent this guy something to do on his screen. She just doesn't learn from the past, how could a person like my friend be hacked by the same person that have hacked her before? This is really interesting. She probably didn't read whomever it was from.

These emails appear to be from the W32.Swen.A@mm virus, a mass mailer with it's own inbuilt SMTP server, a trend it seems now-a-days. I'm running a removal tool on it now, then I'm going ot download and apply the patch for it. I'll let you know when I find out where to get the patch from...

Uhmmm, my Random House Webster's Unabridged Dictionary, version 3.0, tells me that it does exist the word "unliterate", as an adjective. Since I am not a native English speaking guy, many times, before using a word, I take a look at the Dictionary, to make sure it at least exists and I had done such before using this word.
It also does exist "illiterate", and it seems to be much more often used than unliterate (now that you mentioned it), but still, unliterate at least exist, I am not quite sure it may mean the same thing as illiterate and I did mean illiterate, but it exists!

well, "un" means not, then "literate" means literate. So it probably does. I think so too!

We have done so.
