one of my clients has a pre-installed home xp o/s on his pc, he has the recovery disks etc, i went to install scanner for him, but it asks for the disks and looks for file called usbscan.sys

i have tried inserting all the escue disks etc that came with pc, but to no avail... can someone who has it please zip that file and send it to me thx...

thanks a million, at leats he can use his scanner now so annoying trying to install stuff on computers when they only have the rescue disks....

I can't remember with XP but usually these pre-installed windows machines come with all the necessary files stored in somwhere like WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS

or something like that, where if it prompts you for the CD and you point to this directory it will load the files from the local filesystem.

Not sure if that's even applicable here.
