Topic awaiting preservation: GN down (Page 1 of 1)

As a number of people have contacted me the GN is currently down. There appears to be something bringing the RunningWolf sites down but Pugzly and Co is beavering away to identify the problem and fix it.

I'm trying to implement some things to reduce the bandwidth usage and some people (including me) are reporting problems. See e.g.:

Could I ask a favour and could people check around the development site and see if there are any problems - the big ones appear to be with IE6/Win.

It appears to be related to my adding this to the .htaccess file to send the pages compressed o browsers that support it (we are looking into mod_gzip too):

php_flag zlib.output_compression on

if anyone knows of any issues related to that.
