Hey, thanks. Been using it for sometime and as luck would have it, I've just starting learning PHP. So I should be able to put it to good use in the next few weeks.

Thanks for making a great tool.

I have to say, I'm quite pleased with HTML Beauty. I grabbed it last week or so when Mr. Max posted it and have been playing with it ever since. It's become my default editor. I'm even weening myself off of word wrap hahah

Thanks for such a spiffy program!

Once again I would like to say thank you for your excelent program!!

I have used ME++ ever since the time I found out about it, and I'm really thrilled with the changes you've made to the new version. There's just one thing I'm missing from the old version, and I hope it's because I'm just not looking in the right place. Have you just moved the menu item to set keyboard macros or done away with them completely? I really got to like having them.

Either way, it's a great job... Thanks.

JKMabry, I've decided not to include "word wrap hack" in the final release, because the current word wrap code has some problems with syntax highlighting and may throw an access violation from time to time, and I don't want to be responisble for the loss of data. As soon as word wrap code is stable, I'll make another release...

Butcher, Keyboard Macros and Tag Libaray have been combined in a unified Code Library. So, go to Code Library (Resource Panel), create new Code Item, write code that you want to insert and assign shortcut (the same as with old Keyboard Macros)...

Much obliged, mr. maX! I've been thinking about trying out your app since the test version thread... I've been a DreamWeaver user for a while, but I'm trying to learn more on the coding side... Looks like this might be a good way to just dive right in!

Thanks!

It's working now, F5 worked this time. We have a NetCache here at work, that must have been the cause.

BTW, Max. did you write Homesite? I've been using Homesite for years, and Beauty is so similar to Homesite, it's been very easy for me to change over.

I think it's pretty obvious who's mind is in the gutter here... gutter boy. Go run along now and play with your octopus.

[Edit: Seriously, though. Anyone have a helpful response?]

[Edit: Never mind. Just downloaded it again, and everything is spiffy. Looks nice so far. Noticed a minor copy error... the pop-up text for the form combobox says "check box". Also, is there column-based selecting?]

Suho1004: Well OK sensible it is then!!

If I were you I'd download it again - its possible something got corrupted in the download.

As you are pos. having trouble with spyware, etc. I'd try and get that cleared and if both those don't work then come back and ask again

PaulBM, no I didn't write HomeSite, but I used it a lot before I wrote HTML Beauty. So, that must be the reason why there are so many similarities...

Suho1004, my ISP had some problems with their internet link, and that's probably the reason why you got a corrupted download. Anyway, I'm glad that everything worked out fine. The typo that you noticed is also present in the menu, besides the hint popup. I really don't know how I didn't catch it before. Column-based selecting is available in HTML Beauty. Go to Program Options / Editor / Options and select "ALT sets column selection mode". Now, every time you want to select a column-block hold ALT key before you select something.

mr.maX

I don't seem to be able to set the New Beauty as the default program to open PHP files. I thought maybe it was because I had both versions of Beauty on my computer but I still have the same problem after removing the older version. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the new version but with no luck. The new Beauty shows up in the "send to" section of the context menu, but not in the "open with" section. I have also tried right clicking a PHP file and go to "properties" and change the default that way, but Beauty doesn't show up in the list either and no matter how many times I browse to the Beauty.exe file to tell it to use that, it doesn't work.

Any pointers on other ways I can accomplish this?

Thanks

I really don't have any idea why your Windows doesn't add HTML Beauty to Open With list even after you manually select beauty.exe as Open With program.

Anyway, this may fix it - Open Registry Editor and go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.php (if there's no ".php" key, create it) and modify Default value to read "htmlfile". Now, all php files should have the same options as every other HTML file...

Thanks mr.maX

In following your suggestion, I believe I found out what the problem was. Since I was in the registry editor anyway I looked to see what the settings were for .html and it seems that my installation of Firebird had hijacked them. I don't remember the value exactly but it was set to something like "htmlmozilla" or something of the sort. I changed that to htmltext as you suggested and all is well again.

Thanks.

[edit] Now how do I add Beauty to the OpenWithList section of the registry? [/edit]
