There is this lady I have been dating for 3 months.
Apparently in two weeks time it will be her birthday and i haven't the slightest idea of what to give her.
Could you guys shoot some of those *bright* ideas towards my direction.

All depends what kind of girl/woman she is, age, demographics. One other very important factor is how much you got to spend.

i hafta agree with ramasax there, it really depends on all that stuff.

i like kinda wacky gifts. like....a cotton candy maker. (no, i don't have one of those yet... it's on my christmas list).

if she's into reading.....get her a book. a gift certificate to a day spa maybe. candles are always winners with me, as is, anything that the gift giver made themselves. i'm also a huge sucker for the mushy stuff too (romantic dinner followed by a hot bath and massage and then gettin freaky). videos/dvds/cds are good too. jewelery is good...but not for limited budgets.

i dunno that any of that stuff would 'blow her away' but, i think that as long as there's thought put into whatever you're getting for her, she should love it.

If you are not to the 'gettin freaky' level as Lacuna suggested, a nice dinner followed by a symphony would be a good alternative.

You've been dating this person for 3 months. I don't care how much you think you're in love or lust or how much you know you're in love or lust, TRY to put things into A THREE MONTH perspective. Give her your trust. Give her respect, a few sunrises and a card would be nice too. If you're still seeing her a year from now do it all over again.

Give her an engagement ring.

Not much else to add, except to say that I'm absolutely heart-broken that binary has another love in his life. Three months? That means it happened during my hiatus... I knew I never should have left.

THe things that have been mentioned in this thread are all very generic, simple, ituitive things - if you hadn't thought of any of them your self, or if you don't know her well enough to know if she'll enjoy any of these things, then....how are a bunch of strangers uspposed to help?

And there's no need to be a dick just because you didn't like some of the responses....

How about a nice t-shirt.

You want to make an impression and it should be a good one too?
So here are some easy unordered rules to follow
-Surprise her (eg pick her up after school/work and take her out or gather all your friends for a big party).
-Know what she is interested in (she likes this or that band/movie/sport get tickets for band/movie or sport).
-Make her feel special (this is the most important one!!)
-Make sure you look good (it's not realy a special day in your old clothes....)
-Be original !!!!

Gifts suggestions:
-Beautyfull flowers, can't realy go wrong here .
-Something to symbolize your love like a nice (big) card.
-Ticket from favourite band
-A framed/enlarged picture with the both off you.
-A little bottle delicate parfum (ask some good advice here).
-A self-made giftcertificate where you promis to walk her dog/do the garden/help with homework/etc.
-A hanger with your names on it.

I am a dude and like to give gifts to women that are more than a "present" but an experience. dinner and a concert sounds great. dinner and watching the sunset. dinner and a walk near a river or coastline, or watching the skyline of whatever city/town you live in. . . . best part is that it can be free. I love music and like to share thatr with my dates. I took a girl to dinner then a jazz club and we sat at a candlelit cocktail table listening to the music and talking. ordering the occassional drink. wasnt too expensive. it was great.

And, I might add... I never even wondered about that absurdity until YOU PEOPLE brought it up. I live in America and as part of the huddled masses I have no free will. I can't speak for the Doc but I am the closest thing you'll find to an expert on tentacle porn around these parts

I also agree with Micahel - the idea of the monkey with the potato sounds like a winner.
