While I will never advocate the use of LSD thats very interesting.

My favorite by far is the 6th one that he did 2 hours 45 minutes after first dose.

i doubt i could have held a pencil on acid...

if i'm not mistaken they used to do experiments like this with lsd all the time. not just drawing but all sorts of stuff.

this little history on LSD is kind of interesting too

I really like the 7th one ( 4h 25minutes after first dose ). The 2hours spent waving his hand in the air seems to have made him some good.

InSiDeR: Wow! For sure Alex Grey is in his own mystical trip But he has a really good technique.

6 is my favorite. Interesting study. I give credit where credit is due and art without drugs seems boring. Where would the music world be without drugs? *ponders*

Maybe I can take some acid so I can be creative sometime. *ponders some more*

Thanks for the link to Alex Grey InSiDeR. Enjoyed that thoroughly.

Interesting links, both of them. I've seen some of Alex Grey's stuff before, but the lot of it in context there was pretty cool. Liked the Sacred Mirrors bit - that was nifty...

The government's done lots of LSD experiments in the past. They stopped most of that research in the mid-80's... a little goes on here and there, but not much. The last acid I had some years back was no good... it's been a decade or more since you could get anything with more punch than a drop of rat poison. Blech! Kids these days don't know what they're really missing...
*cough-cough* not advocating the use of psychedilics though... oh no... *cough*

I would have thought he would have got into some colors there though. ...that 2.45 drawing would be cool with some bright colors...

Thanks, guys - I enjoyed that...

bodhi: I believe most the the testing for LSD in the United States ended in the 60's. It was made illegal in 1969. Timothy Leary was one of the prime researchers at Harvard's Psychiatric Department at the time. After his "turn on, tune in, drop out" campaigne, the government became a little worried.

Not sure about LSD and Goverment programs but Hallucinogenics are still being researched. Paul Stamets grows mushrooms containing Psilocibin under permit from the DEA. There is also some research going on at ASU regarding cluster headaches and hallucinogens.

Actually that was what Tim Leary's main diagnosis was based upon, psylocibin. He went to Mexico and one of the native Shaman gave him some mushrooms for a religious experience. When he came back to the states he convinced the Dean at Harvard to let them study Pshycosis cures with Psylocibin.

The mushrooms he was given in mexico were Psilocibe Mexicana, spore prints of which are still being circulated for microscopy research and identification. p.Mexicana also produces a kind of 'tuber' called sclerotia, aka philosophers stones. I hear that if you happen to find yourself in amsterdam you can order them in the coffee shops, (they also might be p.Tampenisis but that is also psychoactive)

Not urging anyone to go the path Tim Leary took, but it is there...

Its technically not illegal in the UK to sell magic mushrooms (although it is illegal to 'process' them - the debate has been over what 'processing' invovled) and you can buy them from various shops and market stalls:

That reminds me of a rumor I heard that on LSD a vessel bursts in your spinal cord and blood drips down. Could this be a side effect of the overdose of rat poison? Or any dose of rat poison for that matter.

I'd recommend Canada - I'm sure Uncle DarkGarden could put you up

Also I'd be suprised if thats what rat poison did. My second recommednation of the day is not to take rat poison.

Hallucinogenics grow wild throughout the Pacific Northwest and in some areas of the south. Rather than move you just need an identification guide and the stones to believe in your identification skills. It takes a brave man to eat fungi that could cause you a horrible, painfull death. If you still feel the need to move you can always head up to British Colombia, there are coffee shops and the province supposedly produces 10billion a year worth of Marijuana and there is a 3D school up there...Vancouver Film School. Or you could head to the other side of Canada and go to Sheridan.
