Topic awaiting preservation: Div positioning (again?)

'morning asylum,

I know this has probably been up several times before, but i dont think i ever saw a solution to it.

Basically im creating a site with a 760px table which i want *centered* in the webbrowser. On the top of that table, i want multiple DIV layers placed on top of eachother....some overlapping. This doesnt seem to be a problem in Internet Explorer but in Netscape 4.7 it only places the first DIV correctly - the others get pushed to the far left side of the browser for some weird reason.

NN 4.7 doesn't like positioned layers. It will never display them the same as IE and really doesn't display them that well at all.

If you are going to use tables might as well stick with one way and do it. I wouldn't mix tables and absolutely positions div's. You will just end up with bad results.

Yeah I know they arent exactly the best combination. However, I need the effect of it still. NN4.7 user will then have to shove it and change browser

But hey, got it working fine with Internet Explorer by putting a relative div layer around all the absolute positioned. If you check the link i attached, you'll see it works great in IE
