I got out of the wonderful world of web design back in '96, because I was disgusted with how impossible it was to write cross-platform html. I've been playing some with html (et al) in the past few months, and the browsers still don't uphold the standards right, but at least it's managable now.

My question to the OzoneAsylum community at large is: do you use a DHTML library and if so, which one? If not, how do you get by? I'm somewhat torn between writing my own (one that I could feel confident would work in NN, Moz, IE, and Opera) and using one of the ones out there that have obviously had a fair amount of effort poured into them. I first looked at DynAPI (http:/dynapi.sourceforge.net/dynami/), and InI mentioned Dithered, the 1k DHTML library (http://www.dithered.com/experiments/1kdhtml/), but a quick google search reveals somewhere between ten and a billion others available. Does anyone have praise or criticism for any of these?

We have done so.

It's funny you say that. I played DynAPI with it a little and found that it had a number of useful features that seemed to work as I wanted them to. *shrug* I guess this is why soliciting opinions from people in the know is a good thing. I'm looking at the 1k library and I've been impressed with it so far, but I haven't really put it to any use yet.

Check me if I'm wrong, but Doc doesn't have an API that he's officially released, right? And there were only 3 or 4 Znippets scripts? I guess that's not surprising, but part of the utility of DynAPI that I liked was that it had a function for just about everything that you could include if you so desired. Even if they weren't quite as nice as Doc's.
