Gotta bit of a problem, I have a DHTML menu, but it is always positioned behind these little Flash movies positioned on the page. I gave the menu a high z-index, but to no avail. Anyone no of a way to trick flash to stay behind the menu?

Hi Billy Bob, welcome

I'm afraid there's no quick-and-easy solution to that problem as Flash movies and other ActiveX objects are always displayed on top of the rest of the page, no matter which z-index you set.

This seems to come up quite a bit so I started a FAQ on this:

add any relevant bits you might think fit in.

http://mojavelinux.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=127 is a javascript tooltip package that uses the method of removing any offending elements from a page before displaying the tooltip (or menu inn this case)

It works for select boxes, wouldn't know about flash.

in case your boss is looking for viable alternatives, he can have a menu that expands by 'sliding down' instead of expanding out.

good luck!
