the default buttons are 'OK' and 'Cancel'. Can we specify our own text on the buttons like 'yes' and 'no' or whatever?

Oh, Form buttons can be changed. But I believe he's referring to the buttons on the dialog created by the JavaScript confirm() function. Those can't.

There is a way to launch a modal dialog in IE with window.open, and you can put whatever you want in it. But other browsers won't treat it as modal, so it's dangerous to rely on.

One get-around would be to create a layer which pops up (instead of the confirm box) when whatever action is executed. Then you can make the layer to whatever style(s) that suits your preference.

Interesting.. I made this script a few weeks ago to build a custom alert box. The idea was to start out by making it resemble a windows alert and then once it was working, work on the styling... never got round to finishing it though..

The idea, could easily be adapted to a confirm box though as suggested earlier
