I'd like to invite everyone to help evolve and improve the editor/drawing-app found at http://www.naltabyte.se/art.
It's not associated with any commercial interests of any sort, and it's not selling anything, it's just a fun free online service.
The entire site needs to be redesigned, which is also something I would welcome, if someone feels up to the task, but more importantly is the fact that several improvements in the functionality is needed.
The site is, and will remain, free for all to use, but perhaps a registration is good, so that individual artists can edit their art only.
Now, anyone can change/edit any previous art and save it too. :-(
Myself I'm pressed for time, so there's no way I can make this app all it can be on my own.
Anyone contributing, shares the credits, which is kinda obvious, but I thought I'd mention it.

amikael: Intersting application. Does it just do VML?

Now if it produced SVG that would be something an awful lot of people would be interested in.

No SVG - yet.
It's a definite possibility though, all bets are off as to any limitations.
If someone wish to add support for SVG, that's just great by me.
I'm not very well versed in SVG myself, but I'm willing to learn, if someone feels up for it.

A couple of things:

1. is 10 z-indexes really enough?
2. the polygon tool is unintuitive; it shouldn't work the same as the draw freehand tool. Try copying MS Paint's functionality for it.
3. i'd like the ability to select a shape and then change its properties (line width, fill color, etc).
4. the XML produced by "view code" would be much more readable (IMO) if you replaced attribute = "value" with attribute="value".
5. most importantly: when someone's, say, dragging a shape onto the screen, are you redrawing it everytime the onmousemove event happens? if so, *don't* do that. it's very slow. Rather, use setTimeout to call the function at regular, quick intervals until they mouseup. this will *greatly* improve performance.
