i've been developing an active desktop html page for my windows98 desktop. it's main purpose is to provide searches (google, dictionary.com, imdb, etc.) and also display a background image, like a regular desktop. after some messy coding which will no doubt show up my javascripting inexperience i finally have it remembering using cookies the picture and which boxes to display. well, it was displaying the picture until i implemented the hiding of boxes feature... ..advice on how to solve that would firstly be appreciated, secondly just general comments/improvements/what people think of it would be much appreciated. thanx in advance

+ for a sample picture enter "images/existetoi.jpg" (no quotes) into the prompt, or any others from the images section of my site will work. only tiling is currently supported.

[edit]seems that the picture thing is working, when the page is on my server at least. sorry about the shitting ads[/edit]

I'm not seeing a problem. I'm able to see the image you listed, as well as an image from my site.

One word of advice - I'd do something like onfocus=this.value=''; or something for those search input boxes. That way when you click in them to enter your search term, the current contents disappear. Just a thought.

Ok, I've put that in there, something I looked over more than anything. One other thing I was wondering is, without submitting the form or using "onunfocus" is there a way to press enter when focused on an input box to make the relevant window pop up?
