Okidoke- I just took a stab at painting an eyeball and eyelid in PS7, really one of my first attempts at doing this, and the first attempt that has seen its way to completion. It's a little bit sloppy, lines are kinda staggery, but aint much a man can do with a mouse. My Wacom is in the mail Anyway, please tell me what you think, like, dislike, how to improve it, whatever. http://www.geocities.com/cloudman23/eyeball.html

Thanks alot!

Before a mad scientist goes mad, there's probably a point when he is only partially mad, and this is when he throws his best parties.

Good start, Cm.
First thing that pops out is the eyeball. Or at least it looks like it`s about to. Blend some more shading on the outside to set it back a bit further into the head. Remember you can`t see the edges of your eye. Only about 30-40% of the *ball* is showing.
Then blend your colors by Going over the edges of the color changes with an inbetween color ( or perhaps reduce the opacity and blend out.) Add some detial to the iris, reduce the pupil a bit , and you`re off.

Just for the record, you`d be surprised how many of us don`t use tablets.

Like DB said, give the man some more eyelid so he doesn't pop I think more shading and more highlights as well but grab a mirror and check out the contours and shape of your eye. I think you're on the right track with your shading, it's just a little out of place.

I found this info pretty helpful, you might too.. http://div.dyndns.org/EK/tutorial/eye/

Thanks for the link.
The whole thing looks a little funky, but I hadn't planned on creating an eyelid to go with the eyeball, so I didn't use any reference photo. I'm definately interested in learning how to paint in PS, and you guys' suggestions are very helpful

Might also run a search in the :FAQ: for paint. Lot`s of good stuff there.
