Hi, i'm new. I have photoshop 5.5 and I know the basics of making selection, what layers are, and a few of the included filters. I want to know of some web sites that can help me get started on getting good at this program.

i was also wondering if anyone here would be intested in mentoring me heh

No mentoring here... but here's an excrutiatingly huge list of tute sites you can dig into: http://www.photoshopgurus.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1232

Basically any tutorial is a playground of knowledge. Roll up your pants and start getting dirty.

1) the manual

2) Hands On (link at bottom of page)

3) The Gurus Network (link at bottom of page)

Those are by far the best resources I've ever found.

{{edit- morph: this was a well asked question, allowing for a relatively simple answer. I only object to the "me want make this, you show how" questions.... }}

While there is no real mentoring here; if you have a specific question on something that you just can't get right you can post your work here and ask the question and we will be quit willing to help with it.

Edit:Also the FAQ and search buttons up top are quit helpful.
