I'm relatively new so help me out.

I have been recently trying to make graphcis for the web and it seems that i keep getting them pixellated even though i have been sacrificing file size. The images are quite big jpegs and still there is severe textual distortion as well as pixellation of dots and stuff i make from brushes. here is the link:
http://www.aimphreak.com

if that doesnt work then try:
http://www.aimphreak.com/index.htm

its not a website yet, just me testing out the graphics. please look at it and you'll understand my problem.

PS: Please no crits as of yet, wait till i fix this problem and do more stuff.

Thanks a lot

Stop shrinking the graphics via your HTML tags. Don't constrain the width and height of the images.

Hi sadjar.
What method are you using to reduce the file size, are you using PhotoShop?
If possible, have you got a copy (to post here) of the original artwork for comparison?

To specify nax's a bit:

The top image is actually 1024x600 but your html specifies it to be 800x469

The bottom image is actually 1024x1024 but your html specifies it to be 800x800

If you dun specify a condensed image in your html by changing it's height and width attributes then it will display as intended. It's much better at it's intended size, but you still have aliased text, to solve that simply choose a type of anti-aliasing in the text tool's palette, "sharp", "crisp", "smooth" whatever, you have "none".

edit seem to me that I'm downloading those images everytime I request that page (be it drect or the thml page), instead of grabbing them from my cache, which is odd. Anyone else notice that? Check webserver config maybe.

Ditto here... which wouldn't be an issue except that they're so damn big.

thanks a lot guys, i resolved the issue.

i will reduce the actual image size instead of resizing it thru HTML tags.
As for the text aliasing issue, thanks for the tip, i think i got that fixed too.

Plus, i finally had to go with png, i dont know what it was with jpeg, it just would work well, the file sizes are bigger so dont bother going there again unless u got broadband or something. I will get to the slicing and etc. soo enough. Thanks again for the help.

Hey Hustluz,

donno if you were talking to me, but if you were that header pic was done from a tutorial at
www.yaxay.com

look for the supernova effect tutorial, it might take a little browsing through the different tuts but its there

After following the tut from their, its pretty much playing around until you get it just the way u like. The triangle is just a pic.
