Hi, guys. How are you? Good weekend? Well, this weekend is quiet to me. Nothing exciting really. I have just been surfing here and found this: http://www.ozoneasylum.com/Forum1/HTML/006904.html

Would you know any paticular reason for that? I think they are quite useful. It enables me to show two or more html files at once. The disadvantage of it will be following:

1.Developer has to keep record a lot of html files.
2.Difficult to print entire page.

Do you have any advices? Your time sharing will be my biggest pleasure.

You don't need to use frames to include a html (or any other type of file for that matter) into your page. You can get the same result using javascript, SSI or some server side language.

When a user is directed to your site from a search engine he will most likely be directed to the page with the acctual content, so he won't see the frames. This can be fixed with some redirection scripts, but the script (which in most cases is a javascript) will only work if he has javascript enabled...

I didn't know this. If I can get simillar effect using JSP or server side script, better avoid using frame.
Hmm... A lot to know, isn't it?

Have a good sunday.

Another reason for not using frames is the bad support from the version4 browsers. They can make a mess out off it sometimes. Specially if you are using nested frames (frames in frames....).

Finally sometimes when you navigate away from framed sites you are still stuck with some frames from the first site.
And then the 'old' frames are eating up screen space.

Yess you are right there is a lot to know...a confusing lot i say.
Good Luck.
