My name is Dave Carroll and I'm the webmaster and Editor of the Batman: Defender of Gotham website http://www.defenderofgotham.net which up till this past spring was located at Cinescape Online http://www.cinescape.com/batman/
I'm in the process of beginning my site up again and am in need of a some graphics for the site. Namely nav buttons, site header title, and title logo that would match for use on the message board.

I have a site in mind that has a style of buttons that I'd like to have and the link to that site is http://www.batmobile.net/ I really like the darkened pitted metal and would like all of my images to look similar.

Since I'm beginning this endeavor on my own instead of being affiliated with a corporation so my funds are very meager. Anyone interested and feel they can do this sort of thing please email at the email address below, thanks.

We need a pointless begging forum where nobody goes.

Well... I don't exactly see that as the route I'd like to take on this, Lucid.
I'd much prefer to see a forum or some means of "match making" ... similar to what they do over at k10k.
I dunno if it'd work as well over here though.

Look as it this way..... mebbe if someone hooks him up with what he's looking for, he'll very gratefully give you some sort of credit on his site, and explain to friends of his, how you so willingly went out of your way to help him with this minor predicament..... and perhaps reccommend you around a bit. (*ahem*... Bat64dc... this is your cue to come back in here and agree with me)

a little exposure never hurt eh?
I don't see a problem with this thread.

carry on people.......
lend a hand.

May I put my 2cents in...

If you don't have much money AND if you have PS 6 or 7 then I would go buy the WOW book. Not only will it teach you how to do buttons in PS it also comes with some ALREADY made.

I agree with Michael - this is the chance for some of you to get a nice filler for your resume. At some point in the future you might just be grateful you gave a few hours of your time for free.

There will always be people out there who don't have the required skills and/or the money to pay for your services. You should look at it as an opportunity to help someone out in need (good karma) and a chance to get your work out there seen by people and a useful addition to your portfolio.

I have moved similar things to Outpatient Counselling (for the above reasons) and there is also an FAQ on this (I'll dig it out in a bit).

Unless anyone objects I'll also move this over to OC.

[edit: FAQs on this kind of thing:

I need some inmates to do some work what do I do?

Can you make a graphic/web page for me?

and of course the OC FAQ links to these too:

Thanks Michael, and your absolutely right I'd without a doubt give someone a perminant link on my site for the graphic work they might do for me.

I have PSP and PS7 but I don't have what it takes to capture the look that I'm looking for as can be seen at the weblink I provided. I just thought since this is a great forum for some great graphic artists I might be able to get help in getting my site to capture a look and feel.

honestly I didn't mean to flame anyone or step on anyones toes by asking. Also on a side note my funds are very meager due in part that my wife is currently battling lymphoma cancer so money is a little tight.

Thanks

Bat64dc: There was no need to explain as these things happen but now you have I hope thinks work out for you and your family.

Looking at the batmobile link you arelooking for something along the lines of:
www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorials/photoshop/met_texture.html

which is cool but I'm sure one of our inmates can think up something a little different (just to keep your site looking different ).

I'm going to move this to OC so find this thread continued there.

Also if anyone does volunteer let us know how it goes as I know I'm interested to see how things go

And I'll confess now to having been a big Batman fan as a kid (the comics are still around here somewhere) so I'm biased
