I kicked off my webpage because I had finished it and it was workin after all the testing I did on it.... But I guess, that was not enough. I have had a few friends tell me they had problems with Wordage, especially my Journal page.

Lets take it from the top this time eh?
http://cerebralboy.com

a note, I have not yet put the meta tags in. the CP page is an old project made in M$FP that I have re-hashed many-a-time... I am more interested in critical review of wordage... but I, as always, will be happy with most anything. =Þ

Don't know if this is what your friends are talking about or not... but here goes anyway.... <bg>

Could it be that it's a bit confusing rather than not working?

For example if a click a thumb in the ice storm a 'pop-up' goes to the full image.
When I click '3 yaks' I get even smaller thumbs of the ice storm...which in turn can again go to a full image.

So with very little effort I've got pop ups all over the place and that I find more confusing than perhaps frustrating. Make sense?

Didn't mention it before but as others have said... sure do like that 'fan' VERY good use of flash imo.

btw my sis has cp.

1) colour clash. your flash menu thingys have a slightly lighter BG than the web BG on my pc.
2) screen real estate - could be used better.
3) right image thingy - izzay, i love it. absolutely love it. definitely put a smile on my face
4) right image thingy - again, fades to a colour lighter than the BG.
5) wordage - dank. damn dank. nice....
6) wordage - dank. damn dank. but i still wouldn't mind being able to read the text easily.
7) text links - why can't they be visible without scrolling? (if this is the effect you want, so flash users wont have to look at icky html text, then forgive me. but that's still MHO.)
8) the. fan. rocks.
9) journal - generally, i like the layout.
10) journal - 'generally' means that there are exceptions. whilst i like your titles, it took me a while to figure out that it actually was a title. it needs more emphasis. if you're not willing to use size as a form of emphasis, by not use colour, and make it lighter? atm, it looks like "no yakage" is the title.
11) the main page title "wordage archive and props" doesn't seem to fit in. i reckon it should be pretty, like a graphic, or not there at all. or left aligned... or something... or maybe if you tried my other lighten title idea, that could change things. for the better.
12) proverbs - blank scroll scroll scroll scroll scroll. why?
13) syggage - all i can say is WOO HOO!

(tifkab)

and he's back for more! (crowd roars)
14) yakkage - why, oh why "toolbar=yes"? make it go away!
15) yakkage - like the journal entries, more so than the journal entries, each entry needs more separation. lines can work wonders. in fact, so can a few dots.
16) a supahspecial request - can you make the flashy fun fan interface interact with my status bar on each link? that would complete the experience for me!

I haven't really got any "wordage comments, but here is a few other comments anyway....

1.) Any chance in getting those styles into a External style sheet, I think they clutter up the source code viewing a bit..
2.) oh and before you go public, gotta get some <meta> tags buddy... Overall it's a cool site, I does like it....

eyezaer: I commneted on some aspects of this when it first appeared in the main forum so just a few extras:

1. Keyword and description metatags (I never get tired of typing that!!).

2. I would be a little concerned about having the navigation as part of your Flash animation as people without the plugin would be stuck.

3. You have your proverb in H4 tags and that seems a little odd - put them in P tags (or something similar and add a class to that tag.

Other than that it is looking very good.

hi emps...
correct me if i'm wrong izzay, but i believe he's catered for your 2nd point by having alternate text links for every flash link in the site.
...last time i checked anyways.

Yes, there are text links there, even Stephan Van Hootan can view my pages. I tryed to look up a hack for the status bar, and mousing over stuff in Flash... It works in NN and IE on windows now. Woo! that will probably be all though.

Back to the text links! Oh where, Oh where on earthy should I put them? ? ?

I tryed putting them underneath the text... but I had some weird layer problems with that. I could try again I guess... the very bottom of the page is a standard place for such links.

Ah! page length is dictated buy the Later that is the longest. That is why the Proverbs layer scrolls down forever... that page is the same length as the Journal page. I dont know how to fix that.

Thank you all VERY much for the comments! I am werkin on the "web safe" colors as I type! ha! On the LOOSER 16 bit setting! Yeck!

And of course you are right - that'll teach me for sketching of a quick review (I was going to suggest putting text links in but I forgot so its only half as wayward as it could have been).

I should also point out that there is still something odd going on in Op6 with the text going under the Flash. Now I seem to remember someone saying they didn't have a problem in Opera so could someone else check to see if this is right?

eyezaer: Yep that rings a bell - you can have a screen grab if you like but I'm not sure it will explain the problem.

It has to do with the layers... all the content is in a DIV... um.... and that DIV is not constrained by the table it isin. bah humbug.
Yep. That Layer is more than 100 percent of the window in Opera. That is gay.

And on top of that, I keep breaking it.

Now the archive page is the comment page! what? the comment page is lookin better! The comment page has only comment on it... and the archive page... has only comments on it. I musta messed someting up. Yah, I am using GM.

How are the colors looking?
