![]() Uh, you want it to be 3D or something? You can always just make a basic circle, raise the edges (or sink the middle, it's up to you) using lighting effects, give it a shine (perhaps using my metal tutorial -- curves) and then if you wanted to project it 3-dimensionally, just scale the coin in one direction and then make several layer copies of it, each moved a single pixel apart from each other in the direction you want it to project. Thne flatten all those layers and you've got a 3-D coin. I'd show you an example, but I'm at work. You'll have to wait until tonight. But that's my idea. |

![]() That still doesn't address how to get his face in relief on the coin. That's tougher. Start with profile shot, convert to grayscale, maybe a slight blur then emboss, clip to "coin" circle, then run metallic routine -- ? Make sense? Could be fun. |

![]() a step by step tutorial on how to make a silver coin is needed.no one is exactly sure how to do it. wouldn't be fun to have a coin generated by computer with whatever relief you want on it and fonts.mmm ponder. the possibilities !!! |

![]() as we all know, there are many ways of doings things in photoshop.YES WE NEED a tutorial step by step.than play around the tutorial guide with other ways of achieving effects. |

![]() For the relief of his (her?) face on the coin, just scale an image of yourself, greyscale it and then use the emboss filter. Attach it to the middle of the coin and then tweak the metal tutorial. Like I said before, I'll do an example tonight, I'm at work right now.... not all of us are graphic designers for our jobs. Some of us are just lowly Quality Assurance Engineers. |

![]() I've gotten rather good results using lighting effects for putting faces on metal. Toss the facial picture into an alpha channel, guass around 4 or so, and lighting effects away. I find it much easier to control the specular, highlights, shadows, and whatever this way. |

![]() Okay, here's MY example image, and I did exactly what I said. I'll post the other steps when I have more time. |
