soon i'll be ditching windows for good and having only linux computers here at home, therefore i'll be using the gimp for graphics. i'm wondering if anyone knows if photoshop brushes are compatible, or if there is a way to convert? i'm fond of my brush collection. any input would be appreciated.

Download it and find out. There's a windows build of the gimp now as well.

Well, I've worked with the Gimp a bit (because I like Linux). however, PS is better...oh, just waiting for the day PS is available for Linux...however, regarding the brushes, should be possible...just don't know how you would import them into the proper Lib....

I played around with the gimp for a while. It's every bit as powerful as Photoshop, maybe more so but the User Interface sucks big time.

Which is a pitty. Being able to work fast is rather essential for most things, espically for me. If it's taking too long I'll just give up.

It's kinda like the Blender of the 3D application world.
