well i'm making a website and want to incorporate dribble into it...since dribble is SO damn cool.

anyhow...i've been messing with the setting in flash and have came across a problem...

1. i type a nick in
2. i hit tab
3. i hit tab again, to skipover the yoursite.com part

and instead of going to the message field, it makes a yellow square around the top scroller...

and...i resized the text field in flash, because i didn't want my dribble to take up to much space on my page.
however when it imports the text from dribbles.txt it's INCREDIBELY small and i was forced to resize the text field back to normal size...
does anyone know how to resize the text field so when it loads dribbles.txt the text isn't so small?

Well, whatever it is, it dosn't load for me...I just get a 'blank' window with a dark BG...and no text...

just give it a moment to load then...it will come up, i promise

oh you might have to have the new flash 6 plugin because i edited it in flashMX

Heeh kk, it's been ages for me but I think Flash allows you to number each element for tabbing around - or you can turn tabbing off completely - hit the help files I read about it in there.

The < font > tags for the msgs are added by the script before it commits to the text file so you'll need to alter that (the php) to change size and colour. Open it in notepad, its only a few lines long. To change the font itself, edit the text box in Flash, if youre using a non standard font be sure to embed it.

ok well...i tried setting a font size in the php and resizing the text box but it still doesn't work. maybe i'm resizing wrong? what i do is use the free transform tool to resize it, should i be doing it another way? help meeeeee!!!

Mate c'mon, text boxes aren't that tricky - Click it, use the bottom right side square handle majiggy to resize, pretty sure free tranform does squash/skew the text inside and the bottom handle majiggy thing controls the available area. Follow?

Failing that delete the original one and insert a newy with the same variable name (its prolly called 'textField') at the size you require.

Holy Moley LiKwiD this dribble rocks. Ive been searching for a tutorial on this forever. Id like to include dribble in a footer of mine for another forum. Do ya think it would be possible? Can I take a gander at the /fla?

Question guys... If I use this as a signature/footer. Does it allow someone to enter text and have someoen else see their text that someone else typed in? Does that make sense? lol

Heeh yah the SQL version does that but there's no reason the older one can't. Add some script to the clip that reloads the text file so it reloads every couple seconds, Flash is cute n prolly won't argue if the server doesn't respond fast enuf each time - should do the trick. Might wanna add some flocking stuff (php script) but eh should be cool.

IM trying to import dribble into a flash site Im workin on and it doesnt import properly. When I import the swf all I can see is the outline of the text box and such. I dont see any text Can ya guys shed some light on this?
