I'd say take a drive out to the country that's where most of the good organic server farms are. |

Yannah: It strikes me they are Word Perfect files. Word tends not to be overly helpful with other people's file formats but OpenOffice might be more useful - I'll just check on the other computer. |

I'm a little confused about what your asking for, a server to store files on, a world processer to read files off of a server, a world processer to read .wordprocesser files. Although, I'd just give you the same advice that these people have been giving you, except that Word has always opened staroffice and WordPerfect files for me. |

yeah I've rarely had a hard time opening other file formats in Word. (Can't save them but that's another issue) |

If all you want to do is read .wps files Office should be able to do it (at least I haven't had any problems with it) or you can install OpenOffice which can read most text files out there, even .wps files |

Some formats Word will only open if you chose to install the proper convertion formats, at the installation time. You can always re-run setup and install them, if you haven't at the first time. And DL-44 pointed out an important difference: 'Words' means Word with a typo or Works with another kind of typo? |

hope you didn't take that in offense DL. I just thought it was funny that you actually asked the question "where does the server fall into place". I was wondering that myself. |
